AMS Inc.
Justin Vigh, owner AMS Inc.
AMS Inc. is the kind of company you don’t hear much about, even though you’ve probably been inside buildings they helped bring to life. Founded in 1985 by Ken Vigh and Steve Bender, AMS has spent four decades doing commercial HVAC work across Utah and Idaho. Today, the company is led by the second generation, Justin Vigh and Robert Bender, carrying forward something that started with two dads and a lot of grit.
Reaching 40 years in business is no small thing. Doing it while growing is even rarer. From 2023 through 2025, AMS averaged nearly 50 percent year over year growth, with no signs of slowing down. Their work spans everything from high altitude installs at Snowbird to large scale commercial projects in fast growing places like Eagle Mountain. It’s steady, technical, often invisible work, and it matters more than most people realize.
But the story isn’t just clean installs and strong numbers. One morning, Justin pulled into work to find the front of the building wrecked. A drunk driver had crashed into the office window at 1:00 a.m., passed out in his truck, spent hours trying to free it from the flowerbed, then abandoned it down the street. The image stuck. Not because it was dramatic, but because it felt familiar. Business ownership has a way of handing you both progress and chaos, sometimes in the same week.
That moment has become a quiet reminder of what founders and operators carry. The wins. The setbacks. The responsibility of showing up anyway. AMS has weathered all of it across generations, economic cycles, and industries that never stop changing.
They are part of a long tradition of Utah companies built to last. We’re proud to have AMS Inc. as a member of Durable and grateful for the perspective, experience, and steadiness they bring to Utah’s Business Commons.
