Aspire Psychological

Cindy Chia, owner Aspire Psychological

Some businesses are built to serve clients. Aspire Psychological was built to serve a community.

When founder Cindy Chia opened her private practice, she wasn’t starting from easy ground. Mental health conversations were growing in Utah, but stigma remained — especially in AAPI communities where silence is often the norm. Cindy stepped into that gap anyway, determined to build a practice where people felt seen as humans first, and where healing belonged not just in a therapy room but in everyday life.

The early journey was full of challenges that don’t make it into business textbooks. Running a small practice meant wearing every hat. Speaking openly about trauma and grief meant tackling topics many prefer to avoid. And building trust in underserved communities meant showing up consistently, long before results showed up on any balance sheet.

But Cindy kept leaning in. That persistence — quiet, steady, and deeply human — reshaped everything.

Aspire Psychological became a recognizable voice across Utah media, featured on KUTV Fresh Living, KSL Studio 5, Good Things Utah, and FOX13 News. Cindy delivered a TEDx Talk giving language to climate grief, which quickly became Salt Lake City’s most-viewed talk of 2025. Over the years, Aspire earned multiple honors, from Best Mental Health Clinic in Salt Lake City to Comcast RISE, and Cindy was named Utah Business’s Most Inspirational Leader in 2023.

Yet the heart of Aspire has never been the accolades. It’s the community work — sponsoring cultural festivals, volunteering at the Utah Food Bank, raising funds during crises, and turning mental health education into something joyful. You’ll find them building giant coping-skills displays by hand, hosting emotional-wellness contests for kids, and showing up wherever healing is needed most.

At Durable, we celebrate businesses that strengthen the fabric of Utah. Aspire Psychological does that every day. Their work reminds us that healing grows stronger when a community grows with it — and we’re proud to have them as part of Utah’s Business Commons.
